"Who are the Home Office Team?" we hear you ask.
We are 2 guys that have seen first-hand the results of computer and laptop users that suffer pain in their backs, wrists, and necks from just not sitting at their desks properly or not utilizing the best layout of their workspace and decided to do something about it.
"So what did you both do about it?", we hear you shout.
We got ourselves qualified, set up a company, and started helping people remotely so we could offer our service to everyone, anywhere without needing to visit.
"What makes you different from other companies?", you enquire.
We are a brand-new company started in October 2020 as a result of redundancies from the COVID crisis, so we are fresh, interested in becoming your solution provider, keen to impress, and above all passionate about making sure you and your colleagues are working safely from home. We also understand how much money you have invested so far in accommodating this new climate and although we need to earn a living, it's not going to be at your company’s expense…(well maybe just a little bit), but it's going to be as cost-effective as we can make it for you!
"What’s your background?", you probe.
Between us, we have over 50 years in the office equipment industry working in all areas from health and safety, technical, sales, and management. And across those years, we have seen working environments from people whose offices are their vehicles, double-decker buses converted to offices on film sets, and bridges of cross channel ferries. We have been to single-person inception hubs up to multinational banks in high-rise city buildings and in each of those environments whether temporary or permeant, every person should be able to use their equipment risk-free of injury.
"Why is it important?", we hear you shout.
In the space of just a few months of not sitting correctly at your workstation you can start feeling the symptoms of Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI), uncomfortable stress, and pain in your upper musculoskeletal area, neck, back, and shoulders, and without intervention, this will only get worse.
"What happens if I don’t correct my posture?", you may ask inquisitively.
Multiply the above by 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years……
"What if I am already starting to suffer pain?",
By having a qualified assessor identify the risk factors that could be affecting you, they can offer advice and recommendations on changes that can be made to your working environment to accommodate or ease the pain. But in all cases, prevention is better than cure!
